Description Sweet Piquanté Peppers are a naturally occuring Capsicum Baccatum hybrid discovered in South Africa in 1993 that have been trademarked as "Peppadew." Plants yield small, sweet, bright red, slightly spicy peppers. Fruit are about the size of cherry tomatoes and very mild, with a Scoville heat rating of 1,177 units. They are often pickled or stuffed. "Peppadew" is a trademarked brand name and the Peppadew company strictly guards seeds, so look for seeds labeled "Sweet Piquanté" peppers or trade with fellow gardeners.
